Calling all Wake Foresters in the Cincinnati area! Join your fellow Deacons and show the world that #GoodWearsBlack during WFU Pro Humanitate Days!
We will be supporting Keep Cincinnati Beautiful for this year's Pro Humanitate Day project. Cincinnati is the gateway to Ohio. With millions of people traveling along I-75 and I-71 every week, we need to make a good impression! Clean and beautified highways welcome visitors and encourage residents and businesses to live, work, and play in Cincinnati. Hundreds of volunteers pick up litter and beautify Cincinnati’s dirtiest roadways in our annual State Roadway Cleanup. We will partner with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful to clean up an on-ramp/off-ramp of highway around Cincinnati.
Here’s how it works: Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT, 1400 Seymour Ave) garage. Light breakfast will be available.
Teams are assigned cleanup locations and receive safety gear. Then we carpool to those locations to pick up litter, clear overgrowth, or landscape flower beds along the roadway. Each team is accompanied by an Ohio Department of Transportation or Department of Public Services crew member.
The cleanup will last until you are done cleaning your site, ending no later than 12:30 p.m. We’ll provide volunteers with coupons for a free burrito or Currito back at ODOT (depending on attendance).
